Honestly, if this is how they treat people do you honestly trust them to give you a loan? I am a dealership and I purchased a car at the auction, the front of the title shows no lien, but when I sold the car to a customer and they tried to register it, the state rejected it saying there was a lien back in from RoadLoans, which is Santander.
I called to get a lien release and they said I had to do it online and pay a fee! Why would I have to pay a fee just to get a lien release from a car that was paid off? I applied at the end of May and was approved, however they said I had to use a particular dealer "CarMax". I asked if I was approved for 30K why couldn't I use a dealer of my choice, they responded and removed CarMax from the loan voucher. I went to several dealers in which wanted me to apply through their financing as Road Loans requires the dealer to pay Road Loans a fee in which seems that none of them wanted to do.
Since I was experiencing so many issues I went and visited CarMax. By this time I was near the end of the approval and Road Loans stated they could give me a 15 day extension only if I went to Car Max, if I wanted to continue with another franchise dealer I would have to reapply granted my credit score has already been reduced from applying with Road Loans.
I tried to re-apply through Road Loans and was denied, so I was left with using the 15 day extension for Car Max. Went to Car Max several times. Finally found a vehicle and presented my loan voucher and was told by Car Max that Road Loans needed to change the date on the voucher to reflect the 15 day extension.
Road Loans said that they wouldn't change the expiration date to reflect the 15 day extension and that Car Max should honor it.
I don't know why Road Loans wouldn't change the date as I would be paying them for the loan and not Car Max. Terrible experience and a waste of my time and reduced credit score. I guess that is why they call it subprime lending. Lesson well learned. No vehicle and lower credit score. I got this letter telling me I was denied an extension to a loan. Funny I never applied for a loan let alone an extension to a loan I don't have.
I know my credit is bad so I know better than to add to a bad score by another credit check I just know will be denied anyway, hello!!! I have a nice Mustang I love so I don't see me searching for a car, I got one. I'm buying my home so I don't see me looking for another one. There is no reason at all a loan or extension for my loan should've even been checked so let's hope I find out an answer to this issue or the person who approved this check because I will be talking to my attorney on this matter tomorrow.
These people scammed me. Called the dealer ahead of time and told them that I had been approved for a loan. When I got to the dealer they had already picked out a car for me. Didn't even let me pick out my own car.
